How Las Vegas Finds ranks local businesses
The four factors behind every Las Vegas Finds ranking, and how each list is checked and revisited.
The method doesn’t change from list to list: four factors, applied to every business in the category.
Specialized experience
We start with the businesses in the valley listed for the topic and keep those for which it is the main line of work. A pool supply shop is not a pool repair company; a family dentist is not a pediatric dentist.
Customer reputation
Ratings matter in proportion to the reviews that produced them: a spotless 5.0 left by a handful of customers sits below a 4.7 built over hundreds of jobs. Repeated comments about reliability and price count as well.
Complete details
Phone, hours, website and photos should be present and current. In a town where some places never close, listed hours get extra attention, and listings that look abandoned are dropped.
Area served
The valley is wide. Each business is placed in its area, from Centennial Hills to Henderson, so you can choose by distance.
Revisions
We return to each list to remove closures and add businesses that now meet the four factors.
Before you hire
Nevada requires most contractors to hold a State Contractors Board license: get the number and look it up. If you are replacing grass, read the Southern Nevada Water Authority’s rebate rules before the landscaper starts digging, and book A/C service before June.
